JonDeTech ramps up the production speed

20 September, 2019

At the beginning of the summer, JonDeTech made great progress regarding the production of our sensor. But there was also talk about an Asian producer requesting a new version, what is the status on that sensor?

– We have put in a lot of effort during the summer in the tech transfer that will enable us to use multiple high-volume producers with our recipe. The new sensor version is included in this process. It is the same process that our “ordinary” sensors are going through, and we are making progress every week and are closing in on our goal to retrieve fully functional sensors from a third-party manufacturer with a recipe that works without any glitches. The major part of the tech transfer has been completed according to our schedule, however, a few sub-steps remain to be verified.

So, do you believe that this will solve the specific request you received from Asia?

As the remaining sub-steps are more of a generic character in our product design the new sensor will likely be ready at the same time as our ”ordinary” sensor.

What is the latest development?

– We are so close in finalizing most of the process steps that we decided last week to start producing in half format, which is equivalent to an A3 sheet is size compared to the previous A4 format. In addition to the advantage that the half format is the standard size for our third-party manufacturers, the use of a larger size will substantially increase the production volumes. We have increased the pace of starting new panels from every nine-week to every other week. This means that we can speed up our learning process and can implement the newly acquired knowledge every other week instead of having to wait for nine weeks before trying out what we have learned. That will have a great impact.
